One dark night, as he usually did, Caliph Umar al-Khatab r.d. and his assistant, Aslam disguised as common people so they may watch their people closely.
They eventually reached an old house belonged to a poor family ."My daughter , you must do something tonight ,"a voice was heard from an old mother.
"Do what , mum ? "asked her daughter ,"The milk we get today is far less than usual .So you have to add some water to it.No buyer will notice it, "explained the mother.
"But mum , doesn't the Caliph forbid cheating in selling?" asked the girl."Ah !... but the Caliph is not here." persuaded the old mother.
"No, mother . Even if the Caliph could not see us , Allah certainly could ," replied the girl softly.
Caliph Umar al -Khatab was touched by the girl's sincerity."Aslam , what present should we give to this good girl ?" whispered the Caliph.
"A pouch of gold , Sir "replied Aslam . "That 's too little to repay her sincerity to Allah ," The Caliph asserted.
"Oh yes, invite them to my house tomorrow. I will marry her off to my son, Asim," the Caliph suggested happily.
The next day, the old mother and her daughter were invited to the Caliph's house. The girl eventually became the Caliph's daughter in-law. Among their grandchildren was Umar Abdul Aziz, a renowned Caliph who simulated the devoutness of his great grandfather, Caliph Umar al-Khatab r.d.
