Heroine of Islam - Siti Maryam

The Miraculous Birth - Siti Maryam is known as the virgin (unmarried) mother of prophet Isa a.s. Her stories are told in the Qur'an . Siti Maryam's father , Imran , died when she was small. She was then looked after by her uncle, Prophet Zakaria at a monastry called Haikal. Unliked most girls of her age who spent their time playing .

Maryam spent her time praying to Allah.  Being the most religious young lady of her time, it was no surprise that Allah chose her to become the mother of one of His great messengers. One day, angel Jibrail came to her and told her that Allah will give her a son whose name will be Isa al-Masih.

 

Shocked by the news Siti Maryam said:"How shall I have a son when Iam not married?"  Jibrail: "Allah creates what He wills." Soon , Siti Maryam was expecting. To avoid suspiciouns, Siti Maryam moved far away to a remote place near a river. She stayed there until she gave birth to a son.She named him Isa Al- Masih, the name mentioned by angel Jibrail. Allah then commanded Siti Maryam to return to her village with her son.Knowing the tremendous accusations she would be getting , Siti Maryam abided without any complaint. Siti Maryam would do anything for the sake of Allah. When everyone was jeering and chiding her, Siti Maryam did not answer . Only her heart kept praying to Allah .Then a miracle happened .Allah actualy made the little Prophet Isa talk."I' am indeed a servant of Allah .He has given me revelation and made me a prophet." A few accepted her truth,whilst many others disbelieved.They kept disturbing Siti Maryam and Prophet Isa amidst great difficulties. 

For this great endurance, Allah promises a special place for Siti Maryam in heaven.This story tells us that great servants of Allah are always tested with great tests....
