Common causes of peeling skin
A human skin peels everyday and sometimes it can be seen and sometimes not. A skin generally peels because of the following causes:
1. Sun burn: It causes the worst kind of skin peeling. It is ugly and appears with rashes, blisters, itchiness and even fever. If done correctly, sun-burning actually invites new skin. The reason for the skin to peel off is because it’s part of the healing process.
When a person’s skin is burnt, it appears externally cooked. One knows the signs of a sun burn. The skin may look intact for the next few days as it covers the new development of skin cells underneath.
2. Skin diseases such as acne: Skin bacteria that eats the normal skin cells is a cause of this. This makes the skin peel off very quickly. One has to be careful with the peeling because it is mostly very itchy and can block the skin pores. This may later result in further infection if not treated immediately.
3. Naturally dry skin: It is natural for people to have skin peeling on their arms, hands and face who live in moderate countries as they are exposed to having dry skin. This generally happens after taking a bath. The skin that peels off is actually dead skin and it makes way for fresh skin in its place. It can be said that it’s a normal phenomenon. Even when one takes a shower and sponge, layers of dead skin peels off. How a person gets a dead skin has many factors that includes the climate of course. The remedy is that by protecting oneself from heat and using the right kind of lotion for the skin.
4. Peeling resulting from the use of irritating lotion and skin treatment:
Every skin exfoliating and treatment formula does not work in the same way on the same person. Different persons react to different substances in a different way. If a person is not sure about the specific substance then it’s better not to try it. In fact, many popular brands have skin drying additives.
Avoiding skin peeling
Natural skin peeling cannot be avoided and there is nothing that can be done about it. There are ways to make the skin healthy and maintaining it natural looks. Following can be done:
1. Staying away from the sun if not sun-bathing: Spending hours under the skin makes no sense because. Everyone knows the tolerance level and the moment it starts to hurt, it no longer good for the skin although it one insists then a good non-irritating sun block can be used.
2. Preferably using a coconut oil skin lotion: It may not be good to use skin powder because it only stays on the external part. A lotion having coconut oil penetrates the skin and produces better effect by wiping off the dryness.
3. East a diet rich in vitamin E and selenium: Vitamin E helps the skin to be wrinkle free and taught. It protects the skin from the harmful ultraviolet rays and keeps the skin cells healthy. Fish, eggs and dark colored vegetables are rich in Vitamin E and selenium.
4. Not scrubbing the skin too much: Unless a person is too much hairy, scrubbing the skin may result in roughness in the long run. When the skin is wet, it’s so tender that a slightest dab can wipe off the dead cells.
