Ingredients
Lemon basil leaves 80g, coarsely pounded
Garlic 8 cloves, peeled and coarsely pounded
Plum sauce 200ml
Light soy sauce 125ml
Cider vinegar 80ml
Hoisin sauce 100ml
Honey 80ml
Sesame oil 2 tsp
Chicken wings 20
Method- Combine all ingredients except the chicken wings together. Mix the chicken wings well in the marinade until well coated.
- Place into an airtight container and keep refrigerated overnight preferably or for just 6 hours.
- Drain from marinade and place on the wire rack in the oven, making sure there is a tray to collect the drips.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180*C for 40 minutes, basting the chicken wings occasionally with the marinade.
Tips:
Instead of roasting the chicken wings in the oven, you can also barbecue them. Alternatively you can use other parts of the chicken eg. Chicken thighs, drumsticks or chicken breasts.
